Menyikapi Masih Ditemukannya Karhutla, Kapolres Sidrap: Pelaku Pembakar Hutan dan Lahan Dapat Dipidana 15 Tahun Penjara
JP SIDRAP – Menyikapi masih ada ditemukan pembakaran lahan di beberapa wilayah di Kabupaten Sidrap, Kapolres Sidrap AKBP Erwin Syah, S.I.K memberikan himbauan kepada masyarakat untuk mewaspadai segala hal yang dapat memicu kebakaran mengingat kebakaran akan membutuhkan waktu lama untuk bisa memadamkannya.
Untuk mewaspadai meluasnya dampak dari kebakaran hutan dan lahan, Kapolres Sidrap AKBP Erwin Syah, S.I.K memberikan himbauan kepada masyarakat agar tidak membuka lahan perkebunan dengan cara membakar.
“Selain memberikan dampak terhadap menurunnya kualitas udara, kebakaran hutan/lahan juga akan mengancam lingkungan hidup serta ekosistem yang hidup di dalamnya,” Ujar Kapolres Sidrap. Sabtu (16/9/2023).
Menyadari akan keadaan tersebut, Kapolres Sidrap menghimbau kepada masyarakat untuk mengambil beberapa langkah yang bisa dilakukan untuk mencegah terjadinya kebakaran hutan/lahan. Seperti Tidak membuka lahan perkebunan dengan cara membakar, Hindari membakar sampah di lahan atau hutan terutama saat angin kencang, tidak membuang puntung rokok sembarangan di area hutan atau lahan apalagi jika masih menyala yang berisiko memicu terjadinya kebakaran.
“Apabila melihat atau mengetahui adanya kebakaran hutan dan lahan di sekitar kita, agar kiranya masyarakat segera melaporkan ke polsek terdekat atau menghubungi call center 110”, Jelas Kapolres Sidrap.
Disamping himbauan tersebut, sanksi tegas juga menanti kepada setiap orang yang masih tetap melakukan pembakaran hutan/ lahan sebagaimana diatur dalam ketentuan pasal 78 ayat 3 UU No.41 Tahun 1999 tentang Kehutanan.
“Pelaku pembakaran hutan atau lahan dapat dipidana dengan ancaman pidana penjara 15 tahun dan denda Rp 5.000.000.000,- serta pasal 108 UU No.39 Tahun 2014 tentang Perkebunan, dengan ancaman pidana penjara 10 tahun dan denda Rp 10.000.000.000”, Terangnya.
